Fire In The Hills

Last week there was a fire in the hills not far from where I work.  This fire helicopter came down in the golf course and sucked water out of the little lake.  Then it whipped back into the air to empty its load on the distant flames.

One of my two jobs is at the Colony's Clubhouse.  I was at work and ran out and took this video.

It was quite exciting.  The noise and wind put a big grin on my face.

Sky of Trees and the Photographer

I've never been much of a picture taker. But I bought this digital camera and it's great. I'm taking pictures all over my little city of Murrieta.

This picture was striking with how blue the sky was behind the trees.

Now for more of the truth...

My wife's first husband was a famous photographer. I didn't like taking pictures through most of our marriage, because I thought she would think of him.

I wasn't jealous of him. Well, maybe a little. But the main reason was I didn't want my wife to feel bad about her first marriage being a failure.

Licorice

Okay... Everyone that has a dog will eventually show you a picture.

This is Licorice. I sometimes call her Black Water Dog, Puppy, and Dog.

She barks at anything that moves, including butterflies and snails.

KEA Mill

Tuesday I was going to take some pictures of the mountains, but found myself in front of the KEA Mill. I took some pictures. It's an interesting structure.

While taking the pictures I sensed something or someone inside the KEA Mill. It's fenced off with warning signs. Probably a homeless person inside...

I didn't think much of it, until I looked it up on the Net.

They say it's haunted....

Poor Guy

Driving to the bank I saw this poor guy. He's in a Salvation Army's truck, collecting items for the Salvation Army, sitting at an old desk, trying to stay out of the cold rain.

I ask him if I could take his picture. He smiled and said okay.

I was proud of this guy....

My Backyard

This is one side of my backyard. I just used the weedwacker on it. The weeds were high along the fence. A few years ago this was my garden. It was teeming with corn, tomatoes, and zucchini. Along the back fence were giant sunflowers overlooking the garden. It was my paradise.

Much can happen in a few years. A garden, a house, and a marriage can change from bountiful to barren...
